Overview:

Aligning with the 100 year anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, this System-wide Conversation on Race and Economic Equality was especially relevant today where communities continue to face the same hardships they did in 1921. These conversations are designed to educate employees, amplify black voices, and better the communities they serve. While it wasn’t open to the public this conversation received a large interest from their employees resulting in larger than expected registration.

The branding was designed around the word “Embrace”. The idea that we have to embrace what makes us different whether it be race, class, sex or orientation. The branding breaks up the word embrace to highlight the word Race, while also creating a visual dialogue component — a la Electric Company circa 1980s. There is also a component of layering seen in the branding that is representative of the complexity of these conversations and that they are a layering of ideas, opinions, experiences and thoughts. Finally the palette is expanded from the host banks branding colors to include a sage green tone similar to the color of money—representing the Black Wall Street component of the key note speech.
