Overview:
One of the best parts about working with an organization for several years is seeing their storytelling efforts morph, especially when they bring in more visual elements to tell that story.
Dual enrollment is one of the big policy initiatives of The Education Trust-West. In 2021, I worked with the team on creating their "Jumpstart" report, where they talk about college aspirations for California's high school students, what the roadblocks are, and how dual enrollment can eliminate or decrease those barriers, specifically for Black, Latinx, and Native American students.
We could have just agreed to make revisions to the current 16-page report, but the ETW team and I both felt that there was an opportunity to tell a bigger story with the data. So, we created a shorter report with more of a roadmap feel—one that talked clearly and succinctly about the benefits of dual enrollment.
I can't help it—I love when design makes great data and information even better. :)
