Overview:

One Annual Report, two ways.

A few weeks ago, I talked about one of my clients—College Track—and their 25th anniversary logo. I also just got done redesigning their Annual Report. Well, actually, I redesigned it twice over the last few months.

Why? Well, because College Track is transitioning their brand, and they wanted to make sure the first time their donors, advocates, and supporters saw the new brand elements, it was through this report.

Would you believe me if I told you I’m thrilled that we went through two redesigns? Because I think it presents the opportunity to talk about how the same set of content and data can be presented in two radically different ways.

As designers, we often don’t talk about the process of the design—we typically share the before and after. But sometimes, it’s necessary to change course—and then it turns out even better than your original idea.
