INDUSTRY:
Education Advocacy

Overview:

We’ve worked with the team at Education Trust-West, a California-based advocacy non-profit, for many years. One of the best parts about working with EdTrust is how intentionally they advocate for students, especially those whose potential is often overlooked.

EdTrust carries out their mission in three primary ways:

1. Analyzing data at the local, state, and national levels to build a broader understanding of opportunity gaps for students of color and students from low-income backgrounds and the actions necessary to close them.

2. Helping to shape and influence national and state policy, bringing lessons learned from on-the-ground work and from data analyses to build the case for policies that will help all students achieve excellence.

3. Working alongside educators, policymakers, and advocates in communities across the country, providing practical assistance in their efforts to transform schools and colleges into institutions that are safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for students of color and students from low-income backgrounds.

This year, the EdTrust system got a makeover, with the entire organization going through a national-level rebrand. This gave Ratkaj Designs an opportunity to work with the larger rebrand and apply it to the assets we designed specifically for EdTrust West. In this long format print, piece, the organization makes the case for LAUSD schools to help students meet the 15-course “A-G” requirements for attending California State University and University of California School Systems.

It was a treat to be able to apply the colors, fonts, photography, and other elements of the national rebrand to these EdTrust pieces — the rebrand really elevates the work of the organization as a whole!
