Shred’s Inferno Website

Big News: Ratkaj Designs is officially in the tattoo business!
Okay, let us rephrase. We’re in the tattoo website design business with the Squarespace site we recently designed for Shred's Inferno, a tattoo parlor located in the West Lawn neighborhood of Chicago.
Working with Shred, the shop's owner for nearly three decades and its resident tattoo artist, was a great experience. He approaches each tattoo he co-creates with his clients as an opportunity to delve into their stories, dreams, and desires, translating those into living works of art etched onto their skin. We’d never worked with this kind of artist before, so it was fascinating to learn about what he does!
Black is a key color for many tattoo artists (and for good reason!) so we balanced the black and white of Shred’s logo with a bold red hue to deliver contrast. Our favorite part of the site is the handshake illustration on the homepage—complete with tattoos!
Shred’s big ask was that the website be built for future growth. He has big plans to bring other tattoo artists into the shop, and he wants to be able to highlight them, make individual art portfolios searchable, and most important—be able to do all of that himself without having to reach out to us for web updates. With the shop's new site, all of that is possible.
