Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro - Event Patches

PROJECT TYPE
Event Design

INDUSTRY:
Non-profit

Overview:

Internal events often get overlooked when it comes to branding—but for us, they’re where some of the most joyful, human-centered design happens.

This spring, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro to create 15 custom-designed embroidered patches for a staff event. The Club serves over 4,500 youth in the Bay Area each year, and their staff culture is vibrant, mission-driven, and playful—all of which needed to show up in the designs.

Working from the Clubs’ already-vibrant color palette, we collaborated with the organization’s leadership to narrow down the collection. Each patch represented a different internal value (“Resilience,” “Youth Centered”), a nod to their geographic location (“Made in the Bay,” “Bay Love, Club Strong”) or a tagline rooted in their mission (“Hella Down for Youth,” “Future Ready,” “Powered by Potential”).

What we love most? The impact was immediate. Staff loved them—not only because the patches are awesome (they’re pretty much the new stickers), but because each patch was something that was a direct link to the team culture they’ve built at the Clubs.

Because when you design for the people behind the mission, you’re building culture in the most tangible way possible.
