Overview:

Drippy Pots is the work of Philadelphia-based ceramic artist Brian Giniewski. A former college ceramics and fine arts professor, Brian launched Drippy Pots in 2013 with one simple goal: to put the FUN back into functional pottery. With thick pastel glazes that cascade like melting ice cream, Brian's delectable, one-of-a-kind "drippies" are just as likely to cause a toothache as they are to spruce up a home. But while Drippy Pots' former website placed these mouthwatering pieces front and center, it did little justice to the creator behind their sticky-sweet coatings.

When Brian asked me for a site refresh, I jumped at the chance to give him a platform that would let that story shine. Partnering with Peadpod Marketing's Melissa Ripp on copywriting, I designed a site to showcase Brian's creations while also highlighting the intentionality behind his artistic practice. Not only was the site's color palette taken directly from past drops, but its iconic navigation bar was also hand-traced from a real sample pot. Given Brian's impressive social media following, I also made sure the site was robust enough to keep up with his e-commerce needs. The site is strictly mobile-first — a first for me! — and includes exclusive shopping tiers geared toward generating the kinds of intimate customer relationships that keep Drippy Pots going.

Ultimately, I wanted this site to convey the spirit of Brian's pottery itself: beautiful and functional, with a unique story to tell!
