Dream Volunteers Impact Report
Overview:
Dream Volunteers is a non-profit formed in 2007 by Executive Director Brian Buntz and Eric Lochtefeld. Buntz, a former Peace Corps Volunteer and classroom teacher, and Lochtefeld, a Bay Area entrepreneur, knew there was a cohort of teens in the United States and Canada with a strong desire to learn, lead, and “do good in the world” — and they wanted to provide the resources and opportunities for aspiring young people all over the globe to become the change makers they aspired to be.
Seventeen years later, Dream Volunteers now works with more than 20 partner schools throughout the US and Canada, making it possible for young people to travel to destinations as far-reaching as the Costa Rican mountain highlands and the desert city of Jaipur, India. They immerse themselves in the local cultures and participate in development projects. And, international scholars can also participate in Dream Volunteers schools, scholarships, and development projects.
Pretty cool, right?
For the third year in a row, Dream Volunteers worked with the team at Ratkaj Designs to create their annual Impact Report. With the theme of “Young Leaders Opening Up Our World,” the report uses emersive photography, first-hand volunteer experiences, updates on their transformative and interwoven programs, and data points to weave a story of connection and broadening horizons.
At a time when our world desperately needs to reduce our divisions and build bridges, the youth participating in Dream Volunteers are reaching out their hands, softening their hearts and opening their minds to a broad set of people, ideas, behaviors, and attitudes.
When we say that there’s power in design, this is exactly what we mean. A huge thank you to Dream Volunteers for trusting us to tell their visual story!
