Dream Catch Copywriting Branding
Overview:
Teresa Decker of Dream Catch Copywriting and I met through a mutual client, and as we got to know each other, I learned that she had been in business for the same amount of time that I have, but her branding was still the Canva design she started with. The problem is, Canva designs (and any other stock platform) don’t actually belong to you. They aren’t unique and can’t be protected through copyright or other registration.
I immediately jumped in. This was the opportunity to build on what she loved about her current branding but make it custom and unique to Dream Catch.
After some research and exploration, I landed on a Dreamcatcher that contains hidden meaning – it’s not a coincidence it has six parts to the inside! The symbol has a friendly and approachable feel, exactly how it feels to meet Teresa. The feather silhouettes provide an organic element to the design while also creating roots that ground the dreamy imagery down to earth and into reality.
I added hand-drawn elements to the visual identity package to create an authentic and genuine feel that added a touch of whimsy and magic.
This was a complete team effort. Teresa established the foundations of the branding on her own, but I came in later to add a fine point to the visual identity and really make it custom to her.
